Watersheds: Walnut Creek and Squaw Creek Watersheds

The Walnut (52.2 km2) and Squaw (47.4 km2) creek watersheds are two adjacent watersheds with similar basin characteristics located in the southern Iowa Drift Plain, an area characterized as steeply rolling hills and well developed drainage. These watersheds were selected for a paired watershed approach to study nonpoint source pollution reduction strategies by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
