CARD: Center for Agricultural and Rural Development

Becky Olson joined CARD in 1990 as a secretary to the associate director. Since that time she has worked in various capacities until she moved into the areas of computer layout, illustration, and desktop publishing and became CARD's official graphic designer in 2000. Her responsibilities include layout and design of CARD publications, including brochures, posters, flyers, booklets, and special reports, and she often helps with design and illustration of faculty PowerPoint presentations. She is the graphic designer and illustrator for the Iowa Ag Review quarterly newsletter. And she oversees the production of CARD's series papers, which are published in print and online formats. She has also begun to apply her skills to the organization's Web site design.

Olson is originally from Jamestown, New York. She and her husband, Ray, moved to Iowa in 1988 and live on a small acreage outside of Boone, Iowa.
