CARD: Center for Agricultural and Rural Development

Curtis Balmer joined CARD in August 2003 to provide programming, design, and maintenance for all CARD-affiliated web sites. He earned a computer engineering degree from ISU in spring 2001, and went on to work in the Department of Economics as a web and database manager. Since joining CARD, Balmer has been working on updating pages, including creating new interactive database applications and making sure the pages are consistent and user-friendly.

Balmer is an Iowa native. He lives in Ames with his wife, Stacey Brown, and their puppies, Solstice and Willow. In their leisure time the two like to listen to music, watch movies, and spend time outdoors. Balmer also enjoys shooting pool and the works of Vincent van Gogh.
