Manoj Jha
Associate Scientist
Manoj Jha received his M.S. and Ph.D. (2004) degrees in environmental and water resources engineering at Iowa State University. His Ph.D. research on modeling of hydrologic and climate change in the Upper Mississippi River Basin won a Research Excellence Award. He joined CARD as an assistant research scientist in January 2006. He also holds the title of Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering Department. He is originally from Nepal and received his B.E. in civil engineering at Tribhuvan University there and his M.E. in water resources from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr. Jha works in the areas of watershed hydrology and water quality modeling, water resources engineering, and climate change impact analysis. Recent projects have included a study of water quality modeling and assessment of the climate change impact in the Upper Mississippi River Basin, and an analysis of environmental effects of expansion of biofuel production.
Jha likes to spend time with his family and catch up on his PMA reading in his leisure time. He and his wife Mamta have two kids, Dave and Gauri.
